KCW Book Club!
Feeling anxious is something most of us experience at some point in our lives. Helen Thorne’s book “Hope in an Anxious World” helpfully dissects the lies that we believe which can result in our sometimes crippling anxiety, and teaches some useful techniques to cope with it. Most importantly, we see how the living God can liberate us from its grip. It is often helpful to discuss insights & challenges, and to pray with one another. We’ll have an opportunity to do that through a series of Book Club meets over Zoom across three Sunday evenings at 8pm:
3rd March - Living in an anxious world (chpt 1-4)
10th March - Hope in the face of anxiety’s lies (chpt 1–3)
17th March - Hope in the face of anxiety’s lies (chpt 4-6)
The book is available through the KCW bookstore at https://uk.10ofthose.com/product/9781784986261/hope-in-an-anxious-world-paperback. A Zoom link will be provided nearer the time to those who wish to join – please email Rubina (talkingchurch@kingschurchwalton.co.uk) to sign up.

THEME - REAL REST
Within each of us is a deep longing for rest, but it often feels far out of reach. Our culture tells us we must strive to earn the rest we seek, but Jesus invites us to lay aside our striving and come to him. He alone offers real and lasting rest that will satisfy our weary souls. In our 2 sessions, we will see how Jesus fulfils our longing for rest, and how he equips us to live and serve out of the rest we find in him.
SPEAKER - CAROLYN LACEY
Carolyn lives in Worcester with her husband, Richard, and their grown-up children. Richard is the lead pastor of Woodgreen Evangelical Church and they have served in pastoral ministry together for 22 years. Carolyn works part-time as Woodgreen’s Women’s Worker, and teaches regularly at women’s events and conferences. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, running and reading historical fiction.

Hope Explored!
Running on Zoom across three consecutive Sunday evenings at 8pm – January 22nd & 29th and February 5th, Hope Explored is an informal and relaxed course for anyone who wants to find hope, peace and purpose in life. You don’t need to know anything about the Bible, and you won’t be asked to pray or sing. You can ask any question you like, or you can just sit and listen. Please get in touch with Pete for more details.
Parenting for Eternity
What is Christian parenting? How is that different to just parenting? We want our children to be Christians, so how does that impact our parenting? What does it look like for us to parent to the heart?
Ed Drew, Director of Faith in Kids, is joining us via Zoom on Sunday 15th January, 8pm, to help us think through these questions. Ed is also preaching for us this coming Sunday, so do ask him about the evening if you have any questions.
Parenting is an exhausting joy – we all need support and encouragement to keep going. So please do prioritise this event.
The evening will be interactive and engaging, we’ll split into Zoom breakout groups a couple of times during the evening. The small groups will be organised so you’re with parents of similar aged children. Ed will ensure the event is relevant whatever age your children are.
Please sign up by emailing Pete, who will then send you a link for the Zoom and a copy of the handout.
