Since the start of 2021, King's Church Walton has worked with Besom, Walton and Hersham Foodbank, Home-start, Styles and more recently Fruit World Claygate serving our local community in different ways:

Fresh Food Bags

Every Thursday between 9-10.15am a small team from KCW prepare Fresh Food Bags (filled with apples, potatoes, broccoli, carrots, cucumber, onions, tomatoes and bananas) and deliver them to the Food Bank at St Johns Church, Walton. These bags supplement the dried/tinned goods that Food Bank offer to those in food crisis.

If you would like to be involved in this ministry, packing up food, praying for our local community and partnering with the Food Bank please email Nina.

Parent Support Cafe

The Fresh Food Ministry Team also partner with Home-start Elmbridge providing a fortnightly ‘help yourself’ box of fresh fruit for local families who attend the Parent Support Cafe at the Cromwell Centre on the St. Johns Estate.

Free Fresh Food Stalls

Twice a term the KCW Fresh Food Ministry Team , in partnership with the Walton and Hersham Foodbank, hold a "Free Fresh Food Stall" at St Johns Church, providing an opportunity for families to come and select free fresh fruit and veg for their families. A variety of other free products, donated by our church congregation and the Foodbank are usually on offer at the stalls. These have included home-made cakes, children's books, "back to school items", toiletries and store-cupboard essentials. Importantly, we always offer refreshments and an opportunity for those attending to relax and chat!
